  • Overview

    The Keller Center has the mission to create visible and measurable societal impact through innovative education, entrepreneurship and design. It does so through a set of curricular and co-curricular initiatives. The Keller Center is housed in Princeton’s School of Engineering and Applied Science and shares the school’s vision for bridging disciplines to ensure that all students are prepared to put science and technology to use in solving critical societal challenges.

    The Events Coordinator provides support for the Center’s numerous events throughout the academic year, including the dozens of large-scale public events, as well as numerous workshops, information sessions, conferences and weekly events. In order to expertly execute these responsibilities, the Center seeks an events coordinator who is highly proactive, has expert organizational, prioritization and project management skills, is comfortable with complex decision making and is highly judicious. At the core of this role is expert event planning and event execution.


    • Maps out yearly event calendar and makes plans and adhere to budget to support Keller Center events.
    • Coordinates dates and times for events, in conjunction with other departments and across multiple stakeholders;
    • Makes catering, facility/space reservations and ensures A/V needs are met (including space set-up);
    • Makes travel arrangements and reimbursements for guests and speakers and develops an itinerary for the guests;
    • Obtains speaker bios/abstracts, writes event postings; publicizes events on website/calendars, tracks attendance;
    • Serves as the main point of contact for guests/visitors; and provides administrative support to visiting speakers;
    • Develops blueprint for big events; handles on site organization/staffing, coordination with media services/OIT
    • Coordinates publicity materials design, marketing outreach, website updates etc with the communications coordinator.
    • Provides general office support (e.g., supply ordering, maintenance requests);
    • Hires and supervises student worker as needed.



    • Minimum of a high school diploma
    • 1-3 years work experience 
    • Excellent organizational, expert project management skills and ability to set priorities and juggle competing demands;
    • Ability to map out an operational plan for a busy events season;
    • A focus on timeliness with response times of under 48 hours on most emails/ requests.  Ability to work backward from deadlines. Proactiveness and ability to plan out events well in advance;
    • Tact, excellent judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive situations;
    • Comfort with decision making and problem solving;
    • Particular attention to detail and accuracy in all written and oral communication;
    • Excellent communication skills which encompass keeping stakeholders posted throughout project planning and execution;
    • Consistency in performance across a busy event season.

    Additional Qualifications

    • Strong event management and event execution experience (2-3 years preferred);
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly helpful demeanor;
    • Advanced computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Professional, list management) and ability to learn new systems quickly and use technology effectively;
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
