Overview

Two-year term-limited position, beginning July 1, 2020

 

The Assistant Director position exists to build capacity around programmatic areas of growth in the Center for Career Development. This position is part of the Alumni Engagement and Experiential Learning team, and also supports programs across teams, with areas of focus including connecting students with alumni, supporting graduate student outreach initiatives and resources, writing and editing program support materials, and gathering and organizing data. This person plays a generalist role helping to build programming and resources to support key office initiatives.

Responsibilities

Program Support, Implementation, and Delivery (75%)

  • Support details and logistics for a wide range of innovative programs and resources, including planning travel for student treks and site visits, creating orientation materials, and tracking participation
  • Update data related to alumni volunteers, including identifying volunteers for specific programmatic needs
  • Implement systems for acknowledging and stewarding alumni volunteers
  • Use Salesforce CRM and Tableau dashboards to recruit and track alumni volunteers; update and manage participation data in Salesforce, and run Salesforce reports as requested
  • Assist in developing resources to support student learning in all experiential programming
  • Partner with operations team to assist in gathering data to track student outcomes and first destinations
  • Work closely with the Senior Associate Director for Graduate Student Career Development to help implement programs focused specifically on the graduate student population

 

Reporting and Data Management (15%)

  • Track data on alumni volunteers and ensure consistent and timely sharing of alumni information with colleagues across campus
  • Track budget, assessment and outcomes reporting for areas of programmatic oversight
  • Use data to drive decision-making with an eye toward continuous improvement

 

Direct Student Service (10%)

  • Meet individually or in groups with students to provide preparation and reflection information, specifically focused around experiential learning activities

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Experience using systems/technology to track alumni/volunteer engagement
  • Strong attention to detail and experience managing complex and nuanced programs
  • Experience delivering programs to diverse student audiences
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Comfort with change, ambiguity, and risk in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in working with and supporting underrepresented populations, and deep commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion goals
  • Interest in providing group and individual presentations to students
  • Understanding of Princeton’s student and alumni populations and familiarity with Princeton’s systems and processes preferred
