Job Description
We seek to hire a highly skilled PLC Integrator with specialized expertise in industrial robotics and PLC systems to join our team at Princeton University. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the setup and integration of PLC-based control systems specifically for ABB robotic applications, leveraging TwinCAT and ROS for seamless real-time operation and control. This collaborative position requires working closely with our research team to develop and implement state-of-the-art automation solutions that encompass architectural-scale assembly and additive manufacturing processes. This role will contribute to the efficient, reliable, and safe operation of our cutting-edge robotic systems.Develop, program, and configure automated control systems for robotic assembly and additive manufacturing processes.
Required qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor degree in Mechatronics, or other related fields, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc,
Proven work experience as a Robot and PLC programmer and integrator, preferably in an industrial automation or robotics environment
In-depth knowledge of robotic systems, automation technologies, and the principles of system integration
Proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and debugging PLC systems, along with the capability to analyze system performance and execute effective corrective actions
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
This position requires on-site collaboration with our team
Desired qualifications:
Experience with the TwinCAT software system and Beckhoff automation technologies
Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS)
Experience with sensing technologies, computer vision, and perception
Experience with human-robot collaboration
