Reporting to the Director, Custom Solutions and Integrations, the Systems Administrator/Analyst is a member of the Custom Solutions and Integrations Team within the department of Data Strategy and Innovation. Data Strategy and Innovation is dedicated to housing, managing, analyzing and disseminating information and data to inform University Advancement strategy, as well as fostering strong relationships with donors, volunteers and campus partners and promoting effective integration.
The Systems Administrator/Analyst is responsible for supporting the Office of Advancement through the implementation and maintenance of the Salesforce platforms, serving as the primary system administrator. The administrator will work closely with subject matter experts, business analysts, and technical staff to identify, develop and deploy new business processes and maintain user security.
Platform Administration
• Serve as the primary system administrator for Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce CRM platforms.
• Manage Salesforce configuration changes, including but not limited to flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards, and reports.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Work with a diverse group of business partners and team members on business requirements and solutioning.
• Work with team members to integrate Salesforce with other systems, ensuring seamless data flow and integration points.
• Assist with the configuration and implementation of third-party systems.
Security Administration
• Manage user access, roles, profiles, and permissions to ensure data security and compliance of Salesforce platforms
Architectural Strategy
• Develop end-to-end technical solutions using Salesforce, ensuring alignment with business objectives and requirements.
• Define and implement architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices for the Salesforce platforms.
• Stay up-to-date with Salesforce updates and best practices, and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance user experience.
• Work closely with management on release planning and vendor upgrades.
• Follow change control and deployment of changes to production environments, documenting system configuration changes.
Customer Support/Problem Resolution
• Work closely with testing staff to develop well written and defined test scripts for user stories.
• Responsible for the daily cross-functional operational readiness of Salesforce CRM platform.
• Monitors components of the Salesforce platforms, troubleshooting errors and providing technical support.
• Provide support for production issues both during and outside of business hours.
Vendor Management
• Responsible for the validation of quarterly vendor upgrades, Salesforce upgrades, and vendor fixes.
• Notify the vendor of any issues and either work with them to resolve them or make the necessary fixes in a timely manner.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
• 7+ years of Salesforce experience.
• Experience with implementing custom functionality using Salesforce features like custom objects, workflows, validation rules, automation, formulas, and page layouts.
• Experience with Salesforce user administration and permissions through Profiles, Permission Sets, and Sharing Rules.
• Experience with automation using Salesforce Flow.
• Experience with building Salesforce reports and dashboards.
• Familiarity with project management and change management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Organizational skills to handle several projects simultaneously to accommodate shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others.
• Exhibits a high degree of professionalism, is deadline driven and results oriented.

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred:
• Experience with the Salesforce development ecosystem, including Apex, SOQL, SOSL, Lighting, and Visualforce.
• Salesforce Certified Administrator certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with Marketing Cloud.
• Experience with REST web services preferred.
• Experience with data integration and relational databases.
• Experience in cloud technologies and programming methods.
• Programming experience in C#/.Net a plus.
• Familiarity with project management and change management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience with Salesforce Communities/Experience Cloud.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, operating systems, networking and security.
