Venue Services, a division of Campus Support Services, oversees facility operations of the mixed-use facilities across campus, including Frist Campus Center, 701 Carnegie Center, 100 Overlook, Helm Building, Julis Romo Rabinowitz and Louis A. Simpson buildings, and East Pyne/ Chancellor Green. Venue Services provides broad services for classes, events, and gatherings, supporting tenants, users of the space, and guests.

A member of the Venue Services division of Campus Support Services, the Venue Logistics Supervisor for the Environmental Studies and School of Engineering and Applied Science (ES/SEAS) complex supervises the central loading dock and manages packages and deliveries. As part of the venue team in the complex, the Associate assists with one-stop facility support, supporting tenants and users of the space with loading dock needs including the coordination of deliveries of specialty lab equipment, gases, and packages, as well as operational deliveries such as catering, food, furniture, and supplies.

The Venue Logistics Supervisor leads a team that supports the daily operations of the central loading dock. The team works collaboratively and in support of the five department tenants and campus partners to manage the safe movement, transport, and receiving of deliveries. With a focus on safety and compliance, the Supervisor and team ensure deliveries are coordinated efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner.

The Venue Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of vendor gas deliveries for the complex. The Supervisor is trained (provided by SEAS, EHS, and vendors) on the proper procedures for the delivery of liquid nitrogen and specialty gases. The Supervisor works closely with the vendors to coordinate and supervise the safe delivery and provides support for the tenants accessing the materials.

Working collaboratively with Print and Mail Services and commercial delivery operators, the Supervisor and team receive and document packages arriving in the loading dock. In addition, the Supervisor and team will assist departments with outgoing packages. Under the direction of the Supervisor, the team transports packages, placing the majority in dedicated package delivery lockers for tenants to access. In some cases, the team helps transport items, such as larger lab furniture, equipment, of supplies to the labs or offices.

The Venue Logistics Supervisor and team coordinates activity for other deliveries, including internal and external catering deliveries, food deliveries for the café, and supply deliveries for support teams and departments. The Supervisor and team works collaboratively with the departments to help coordinate the schedule of deliveries to ensure maximum efficiencies.

The Venue Logistics Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a clean, well-organized, safe, and compliant loading dock and receiving area. The Supervisor works collaboratively with partners in Facilities, external vendors, and tenants to ensure operations are compliant and efficient. The Supervisor works closely with Environmental Health and Safety to conduct trainings on safety and compliance.

The Venue Logistics Supervisor works collaboratively with the lead of the dedicated ES loading dock. While ES loading dock is designated for specific lab activities and deliveries for ES research, collaboration and cross-unit support between loading dock teams is essential in providing users of the space with aligned service.

As part of the Venue Services team, the Venue Logistics Supervisor provides operational support, as needed, for the venues team, including assisting with the support of daily operations. As part of the Campus Support Services department, the Venue Logistics Supervisor participates in departmental functions and is part of a cross-unit team providing support for major events on campus.

The Venue Logistics Supervisor provides exceptional support for users of the spaces and fosters excellent relationships with the University community. With high visibility and a pro-active approach, the Supervisor is readily available to address the needs of users of the facility. The position requires the ability to interact with campus community and external vendors, and the capacity to adapt to dynamic, changing situations positively and proactively.
