The Politics Department is looking for technical expertise to create and maintain a website that will be a repository for data related to multiracial democracy. This public-facing website will house data accessible to students, academics, and ordinary citizens. The position is available for immediate placement, with continuation through 2025. The potential for the position to be extended is contingent on the needs of the team and satisfactory job performance.
The hourly rate is $40-$50 per hour. This is a temporary, part-time position (10-15 hours per week), with the potential to be full-time during the summer months.
The developer will need to understand how to present the data in a user-friendly way to a wide-ranging audience.
Specialized technical expertise, including computer programming and statistical proficiency, is required to understand the data, maintain and update the data, and develop the website. An ideal candidate will have experience using the tidyverse for data analysis, data visualizations, and other data science tasks.
