The Coordinator of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation is responsible for oversight of physical therapy treatment and rehabilitation program for eligible Princeton University students. This role also performs the duties and responsibilities of an Athletic Trainer; see below. The Coordinator of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation will report to the Head Athletic Trainer for Athletic Trainer responsibilities and the Director of Athletic Medicine for matters involving any Physical Therapy programs serving the general student population. The Coordinator of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation performs assigned tasks essential to the growth of the program of athletic medicine and the care of the athlete. They may carry out delegated responsibilities essential for the function of a Physical Therapy clinic.
The Athletic Trainer provides on-site coverage and injury care to student athletes under the guidance and oversight of the Head Athletic Trainer and direction of the University Health Services Physicians. As a part of the health care team, the athletic trainer provides injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, recognition, examination, and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.
