Overview

Our care philosophy is that of patient-centeredness in which the needs of the patient are always considered primary. We are aware that students seek our services at a time when they are most vulnerable and may be experiencing anxiety; we want to ensure that their concerns are heard and honored by our staff. However, we also see patient encounters as an opportunity to educate young adults about their health and well-being and empowering them to make healthy choices. Understanding this balance – serving student needs while supporting them to serve their own – is critical for someone in this position.

The Registered Nurse provides routine patient care to clients within Medical Services, emergency nursing care, and nursing support to other departments within University Health Services. In addition, the Registered Nurse performs administrative and other essential tasks to support the delivery of high-quality healthcare.
