Overview

Reporting to the Director of Real Estate within the Facilities Organization, the Manager of Real Estate Transactions will play a critical role within the Real Estate Office in strengthening the administration and management of University real estate transactions and the University real estate portfolio. This role supports Princeton’s off-campus holdings and operational excellence by ensuring effective stewardship of its real estate assets.

Responsibilities

Real Estate Management 

  • Support complex real estate transactions, included but not limited to acquisitions, dispositions, ground leases, and P3 initiatives, by setting strategic goals and managing multi-faceted transactional elements from inception to completion
  • Assist in overseeing the day-to-day management of the University’s real estate portfolio, including engaging marketplace owners, developers, asset managers, and brokers
  • Prepare and meaningfully analyze complex real estate related proformas to inform and drive the decision-making process, including finding efficiencies and opportunities within the portfolio
  • Perform a broad array of real estate related duties and assignments in the daily oversight and management of a large-scale, mixed-use, institution-owned real estate portfolio
  • Manage multiple, varied concurrent real estate projects, including implementation (design documents, bid specifications, procurement process, etc.), progress monitoring, maintaining accurate project schedules and on-time delivery
  • Manage specific real estate related responsibilities with strict attention to detail and follow-through involving real estate contracts and agreements
  • Assist in the preparation of project based and annual asset budgets and develop project specific financial reports

Relationship Management 

  • Work to achieve consensus with project stakeholders and maintain positive working relationships with university staff, third party vendors, clients, local municipalities, and industry professionals
  • Attend necessary municipal meetings, conferences and real estate industry events to advance industry connections and partnerships

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as real estate, engineering, architecture, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the real estate industry and related fields.
  • Familiarity with real estate finance, contract law, financial structuring & reporting, real estate partnerships and joint ventures.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and experience in decision-making within complex organizational environments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to develop and maintain effective customer relationships within a team approach to project management.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple complex projects with varying scope and multiple stages of completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to assertively and collaboratively drive project outcomes. Effective organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
