Overview

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Employer Engagement, this individual is responsible for planning on-campus career fairs, helping to implement the campus recruiting program and supporting students within the career search and recruitment process. The person in this role advises employers on appropriate recruiting methods, policies and procedures, and facilitates access to and awareness of opportunities. Additionally, the person in this role advises students about career search and recruiting processes, ensuring equitable access to career opportunities for all students. This role is also responsible for updating and maintaining data in our online career management system, Handshake.

Responsibilities

 

Recruitment Program Operations

  • Manage the logistics and outreach for multiple on-campus career fairs, including communication with employer partners, operations oversight and follow-up with student participants
  • Develop career fair preparation programming for students to understand how to navigate career fairs effectively
  • Schedule and coordinate staff for employer recruitment information sessions, including finalizing room reservations and serving as a host at on campus events
  • Contribute content for emails about employers hosting recruiting events; support content development for website and Canvas modules on recruitment preparation for students
  • Proactively collaborate with communications team on student marketing and targeted outreach to ensure full recruiting event attendance
  • Support employer engagement team members with recruitment activities including coffee chats, interviews and career education workshops

 

Employer Relationship Development and Communications 

  • Assist employers across dozens of industries, utilizing specialized knowledge of each unique industry’s campus recruitment model and practices
  • Assist employers in posting internships and full-time jobs, and provide guidance on policies, procedures and protocols relevant to recruiting our students; familiarize employers with our Handshake platform
  • Resolve issues related to enforcement of our recruiting policies with employers using tact and diplomacy
  • Proactively suggest new visibility options and programs to expand employers’ brand on campus to ensure employers receive a strong applicant pools
  • Engage in one-on-one contact with prospective employers through telephone and email correspondence

 

Data and Reporting

  • Generate and manage reports concerning employer events and engagement, and accurately track employer contacts within Salesforce
  • Use Salesforce to conduct outreach to employer contacts regarding campus recruiting dates and policies
  • Conduct regular data audits within Salesforce to ensure the accuracy of employer engagement information
  • Keep current with developments in the online career management system, Handshake, and share feature updates with internal staff
  • Review and approve employers and positions posted through Handshake

 

Direct Student Service

  • Advocate for students in the recruiting process, and help to resolve issues or concerns with respect to employers and hiring processes
  • Provide support to students through career advising appointments, drop-in sessions and career preparation workshops
  • Support students throughout the recruitment process by providing guidance on recruitment timelines, assisting in navigating interactions with employers and preparing them for recruitment activities
  • Attend career advising team meetings, and keep current with hiring trends to educate students

 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • 1-3 years of related experience, preferably in employer relations/outreach, campus recruiting, or career development
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • ​​Strong attention to detail and experience working with complex and nuanced programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Passion and experience in cultivating connections, program planning and execution, group facilitation and engagement, and advising college students
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfort with change, ambiguity, and risk in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing multiple priorities
  • Experience in working with and supporting underrepresented populations, and deep commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion goals

 

PREFERRED Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience, and Other Education

  • Master’s degree in a related field
