Project Coordinator (Casual Hourly)

The Institutional Antiracism and Accountability (IARA) Project is looking for a part-time casual hourly (12-16 hours per week), for approximately eight months beginning in February 2026.

This position is based in-person at Princeton University, where an on-campus workspace will be provided. Team meetings are held in-person and online. A flexible weekly schedule will be arranged to support both the needs of the role and the preferences of the team.

Founded and led by Professor Khalil Gibran Muhammad, the IARA Project is based at the Princeton School for Public and International Affairs. Learn more about the IARA Project at: iara.spia.princeton.edu. The Institutional Antiracism and Accountability (IARA) Project researches what works — and doesn’t work — to create antiracist change. Our research is cross-sector and independent. Through rigorous research and real-time policy analysis, we critically evaluate policies and practices for antiracist change so that practitioners can implement effective, lasting solutions. We aim to move organizations from words to action to accountability.

Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator would provide administrative, financial, and project coordination support across programming, publishing and grant initiatives. This position will coordinate key tasks related to our research portal RRAPP, event logistics, budget tracking, and grant administration. This position will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations during a period of growth and transition.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Programming tasks such as coordinating the communications of new research reports in collaboration with authors and communications teams
  • Providing logistical support for small events and maintaining occasional news updates via LinkedIn and Mailchimp.
  • Support IARA’s administration by managing writer contracts and payments, overseeing contract processes for new grants, and coordinating webpage improvements with a university designer.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate enjoys being organized and proactive, and is capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, from small events to complex communications plans. Experience with university administrative systems (Prime, ERA, Concur) and strong attention to detail in editing written content are essential. A connection to IARA’s mission is important, along with a commitment to interrogating power structures and finding paths toward equity, both through our program and in our own practices.
