Overview

The Assistant Director of Data Strategy and Integration partners with stakeholders in Facilities as well as the broader Princeton community to design, develop, and maintain the Facilities data strategy, ecosystem, and integrations environment. The Assistant Director also works closely with analysts across Facilities to ensure they have the data they need in the format they need to generate visualizations and reports required to inform strategic decision making among Facilities leadership.

Responsibilities

Design and Govern Facilities Data Ecosystem:

 

  • Design and oversee the Facilities data ecosystem based on University-defined standards and capabilities.
  • Ensure that the data ecosystem has the required data definitions, policies, and architecture to support the use of data assets in myriad ways.
  • Work with various stakeholders in Facilities, the University Data Office (UDO), the Office of Information Technology (OIT), and others to maintain alignment between the Facilities data ecosystem and University-wide policies, technologies, and strategies.

 Develop and Support Data Integration Strategy and Platform(s):

  • Design and oversee implementation of a data integration strategy for Facilities that uses and informs University practices and technologies.
  • Support data integration requirements for new projects and initiatives within Facilities.
  • Ensure Facilities data can securely and seamlessly flow between Facilities and University systems.
  • Design data transformation capabilities within the University’s framework to support systems, business processes, and analytics/reporting.

 Strategic Partnership and Project Management:

  • Develop and support data strategy and roadmaps in partnership with Facilities leadership, OIT, and the University Data Office.
  • Provide leadership and project management for data-related initiatives as approved by governance.
  • Coordinate a matrixed team of data and reporting analysts in partnership with external resources.
  • Ensure availability, reliability, and accuracy of Facilities-generated data.
  • Serve on University data governance committees as needed, representing Facilities systems and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or 8-10 years of relevant professional work experience
  • Demonstrated experience with data design and architecture, data integrations, and creating policies in a shared-governance environment.
  • Experience managing complex data environments that maintain effective information security controls and practices.
  • Experience leading diverse teams in a complex, shared governance or higher education environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and work autonomously in a high-demand environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Proactive and collaborative approach to partnering with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn new technologies, systems, and processes.
  • Experience with business process requirements gathering.
  • Experience with communication and team leadership, mentorship, and development
