Overview

The Real Estate Office is seeking a detail‑oriented summer Intern to support the organization, quality review, and digitization of real estate records as part of an ongoing initiative to upload searchable documents into an electronic document management system (i.e. Meridian). This role supports active facilities and real estate projects and offers hands‑on experience with data management, records validation, and applied research.

The position also provides exposure to real estate within a higher-ed environment and is well suited for students interested in real estate, facilities, planning, geography, public policy, data management, or information systems. You will connect documents to real buildings and assets, participate in property research and walkthroughs, and gain insight into how higher-ed institutions manage land, assets, records, and development—while building valuable entry-level skills in data quality, organization, and problem‑solving.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing and quality checking physical and digital real estate records for completeness and accuracy (QA/QC).
  • Review property documents to identify key information such as block and lot numbers, addresses, and asset references.
  • Verify property information against municipal maps, records, and other authoritative sources.
  • Cross-reference documents to correctly associate files with buildings, parcels, or real estate assets.
  • Rename files, update locations and identifiers, and load them into the Meridian document management system as needed.
  • Track file locations, asset details, and status updates in Excel or similar tools.
  • Support general data cleanup and records management projects for the Real Estate Office.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Comfortable working with PDFs, Excel, and basic file systems.
  • Ability to follow conventions and apply consistent standards.
  • Interest in real estate, facilities, planning, data management, archives, or information systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and ask questions when issues arise.

Be advised that you will be contacted only if there is further interest in your application. Your candidate dashboard may not display status updates for this requisition.
