Reporting to the Associate Dean for Graduate Education, the Director of Graduate Admissions directs and leads an admissions process focused on recruiting a highly qualified and diverse student body for the MPA and MPP programs, and for the Junior Summer Institute (JSI). Faculty handle the Ph.D. admissions process directly with support from Graduate Admissions. The Admissions Director works in partnership and collaboration with the Graduate Admissions Committee comprised of faculty, staff, and graduate students.
The Director leads and facilitates the School’s admissions processes to achieve the University’s objectives while providing efficient and effective service, maintaining a strong marketing and recruitment plan to attract the very best college graduates, other highly qualified students, and ensuring that the School’s commitment to diversity is realized. The Director builds and maintains collaborative relationships with both campus and external constituents and stakeholders. The Director manages a committed four-person staff and oversees planning, budgeting, and operational line responsibility.
