We seek an experienced benefits administrator to join our high performing team.  


The benefits administrator is a critical member of our team, dedicated to provide high-level customer service and administration of health and welfare plans to Princeton’s diverse workforce and retirees.  The position executes detailed benefits administration activities as well as provides customer service directly to our faculty, staff, retirees, and their family members.

  • Executing the administration of assigned benefit plans. 
  • Interacting on a regular basis with a diverse workforce comprised of faculty, staff, retirees, and/or dependents to advise on benefits, solve issues, address concerns, and promote understanding and appreciation of total rewards at Princeton University.
  • Recommending and implementing changes to improve service delivery, efficiency of operations, and administrative controls.
  • Providing support with project management and other assignments.




  • Practical application and appreciation of applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing benefits.
  • At least 1 year of benefits administration or/and customer service experience
  • Associates or other two-year degree
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and judgment skills
  • High level of integrity and professionalism with a balanced approach to problem solving and maintaining confidentiality
  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to establish solid working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships with vendors, managers, colleagues, and employees at all levels
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite



  • Familiar with integrated HR systems and ACD systems
  • Familiar with PeopleSoft
  • Experience with process re-engineering in an administrative environment
  • Familiar with web capabilities for communications and administration activity
  • Demonstrative creative problem solving skills
