The Center for the Physics of Biological Function seeks an administrative assistant to provide administrative support to the faculty directors and assistant director of the Center for the Physics of Biological Function (CPBF).
The position is a one year term position with renewal contingent on satisfactory performance and continued funding.
Primary responsibilities include: Manage calendars for faculty directors; assist in center administration including organizing seminar/symposia and summer school under the direction of the assistant director; maintain faculty group and center webpages; arrange travel for faculty and center participants; coordinate visits; assist in electronic application of faculty grant proposals; assist with faculty research publications; assist faculty with teaching duties as requested; process travel reports through Concur for faculty, research staff and visitors; coordinate faculty and postdoctoral searches; undertake special projects as needed.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) required, as well as exceptional organizational skills, ability to work independently, to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and to exercise discretion in obtaining and providing factual and confidential information.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus 1-3 years’ experience in a relevant independent, responsible position in a corporate or academic environment. Strong skills in word processing, document scanning, web page management, and the MS Office Suite.
