  • Overview

    The Sr. Technical Delivery Analyst (Analyst) will partner with business process owners and technical delivery partners to deliver technical solutions that are in alignment with IT and business strategies. The Analyst will assist in supporting the Capital Projects Office, Office of the University Architect and Sustainability teams within the Princeton University Facilities department. This technical delivery lead role is accountable for ensuring day-to-day operations for a portfolio of applications, identifying and implementing system improvements and leading the seamless delivery of projects with the use of strong business analysis and project leadership skills. A key responsibility for the Analyst will be to develop and maintain the environment that houses Facilities geospatial data which is used by departments within Facilities and across campus. This includes providing technical expertise to support the creation, analysis, management and distribution of standardized geospatial information, products and services to support the functioning and planning of the Princeton University campus.

     

    This role is part of FIT, which is a unit of Facilities Finance and Administrative Services (FFAS) and provides services to Princeton’s 700+ person Facilities organization. It is a key position and the candidate must provide leadership, administration and be a team player. This position requires a high-level of technical creativity, responsibility and excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while ensuring a high quality of technical support and delivery.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Gather and document business and IT requirements, develop functional design, gap analysis, and prototyping. Establish test plans, author test scripts, test and create project documentation.
    • Ensure SLA’s are met and meet expectations of IT and the business
    • Proactively design, explore, research and benchmark solutions and emerging technologies  
    • Lead projects and manage stakeholder expectations. This includes the development of project plans, issue management, vendor management, leading technical teams and managing expectations
    • Clearly and concisely communicate the progress and status of IT initiatives to stakeholders
    • Prepare, update, and deliver customer-specific spatial data sets and/or data analysis products on time and complete using Princeton University’s current software platforms
    • Clearly and concisely display complex data to non-technical stakeholders
    • Understand business needs and implement technical and process solutions that meet these needs. Develop and maintain strong relationships with IT delivery partners. 
    • Serve as advisor and support with the Facilities departments to diagnose/troubleshoot and correct daily analytical and technical issues for various members of the university’s facilities department
    • Independently trouble shoot more complex problems and suggest resolutions
    • Perform root-cause analysis, identify areas of opportunity, propose ideas and develop and implement remediation plans to close gaps
    • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps in alignment with functional strategies, IT strategies (current and emerging technology) and University IT framework
    • Assess and propose technical solutions that meet business needs
    • Review data deliverables for all projects requiring the use of GIS data. Ensure that these deliverables meet the FIT data requirements and provide feedback to the project consultants as needed.
    • Consolidate, import, maintain, and organize FIT’s geospatial data across multiple ongoing projects with an enterprise GIS (ESRI and Geocortex), enforcing cartographic accuracy, metadata and schema standards, while facilitating better management of the data
    • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of geospatial data collection and integration efforts to ensure quality and integrity of data and mobile collectors, document, recommend, and/or revise QA/QC procedures as required
    • Perform routine maintenance and monitoring on GIS and SharePoint environments to ensure consistent availability of content and services to our business partners. Develop and maintain documentation on troubleshooting, process standard operating procedures, and best practice guidelines

     

    All Facilities employees are considered essential and are expected to be available to work as directed by the department during emergencies and certain campus events.

    Qualifications

    Essential:

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 year of experience; of which 2-3 years include hands on experience in business analysis and design, project management, requirements gathering and design and facilitation skills
    • Strong project management skills required. Strong background in Business and technical requirements gathering/documentation, data modeling, and testing.
    • Competitive candidates must have strong and demonstrated hands-on experience in working with SQL language, customizing/configuring SharePoint 2016+, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, AutoCAD, Python, Adobe Illustrator, and the Microsoft Office Suite of products
    • Excellent interpersonal communication (written & verbal), facilitation and influence skills required
    • High tolerance for ambiguity and proven ability to balance day to day and project priorities
    • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to lead projects to delivery
    • Demonstrated capability in working with business users to improve processes
    • Proven ability to work independently and lead project teams, understand the relationship between technology and business and translate business requirements into viable technical and process solutions
    • Proven ability to communicate technical direction, make decisions, to be driven and work autonomously to ensure successful implementation of solutions
    • The candidate must be highly motivated and self-starting individual that can work on multiple project simultaneously within both a team environment and individually
    • Knowledge of GIS principles and practices, spatial analysis, imagery interpretation, and data collection is required
    • Competitive candidates must have strong analytical, quantitative, and reasoning skills

      

    Preferred:

    • Competitive candidates must have strong and demonstrated hands-on experience in working with PowerShell, Nintex Workflows, Geocortex
    • Experience in the following is a plus: BIM data management and integration, Oracle, and .NET
    • Knowledge of systems architecture, application development lifecycle and data modeling is a plus
    • Knowledge of construction management workflows is preferred
    • Experience with architectural and engineering disciplines and drawings, a working knowledge of GIS with Geocortex and exposure to land records management is a plus
