Reporting to the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Deputy CIO is responsible for overseeing IT-related initiatives that strengthen campus-wide IT services while enabling the University to operate more efficiently. The Deputy CIO provides leadership in all areas of IT management and operations and ensures OIT organizational effectiveness. Key responsibilities include serving as the organizational lead in the areas of IT strategic direction, organizational effectiveness, contract and vendor management, administration and finance and department-wide communications. The Deputy CIO is also responsible for developing external relationships, as appropriate, to identify and keep abreast of emerging trends and opportunities in IT.
The Deputy CIO supervises a team of highly motivated IT professionals, is a member of the CIO Senior Staff, and serves on a variety of University-level committees representing OIT. The Deputy CIO represents the Vice President and CIO in his absence and also functions as the organization’s chief of staff.
Provide organizational vision, advising, and strategic planning
Manage Operations and Planning operational functions
Strategic Advisory Group leadership and budget planning
Represent OIT in University and external collaborations
Senior Staff leadership
Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
