  • Overview

    The School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the work of the Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion whose focus is recruiting, retaining, and supporting a diverse student and faculty population within the School. The coordinator will provide assistance to various programmatic and recruiting efforts, provide backup and representation for the Associate Dean during unavailable times, as well as manage daily work-flow and provide high-level administrative support to the Associate Dean.


    Financial and Administrative Support:

    On behalf of the Associate Dean, serves as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include the handling and responding to inquiries; drafts, distributes, and follows up on correspondence; schedules meetings and maintains the Associate Dean's calendar and verifies meeting times and locations; assists with travel arrangements; monitors and tracks budgets and expenditures and provides monthly budget updates; participates in annual budget review and projections. Serves as the Associate Dean's representative as needed.


    Programming, Recruiting, and Outreach:

    Provides input, high-level support and management on a variety of recruiting efforts, as determined by the Associate Dean. Coordinates with SEAS colleagues on recruitment fair attendance and logistics and ensures proper communication is deployed post-recruiting /outreach effort. This includes various on and off campus visits and events. In consultation and under the direction of the Associate Dean, plans and executes a variety of outreach efforts and is responsible for all event logistics (space, catering, RSVPs, budgeting, etc). Responds to funding requests and provide timely disbursement of funds external entities and vendors.


    Metrics and Reporting:

    Assists with data management as it relates to assessment of diversity and inclusion initiatives; runs analysis of efficacy and impact of initiatives, and prepares data for year-end reporting purposes. Other duties as assigned.



    • Bachelor's Degree and 4-6 years of related experience
    • Excellent communication skills, customer−service orientation, and a high degree of professionalism and responsiveness
    • Must be able to work as a team player
    • Strong computer and financial management skills required, including experience with Microsoft applications
    • Self−starter who is well-organized, detail−oriented, disciplined, flexible, and effective under pressure
    • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple important projects at once
    • Maturity, critical thinking, and good judgment are all essential.



    • Knowledge of University financial, purchasing, travel, and business systems
    • Experience in working with and supporting underrepresented populations, and deep commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion goals
