Would you like to help academic researchers to advance their groundbreaking research? Do you have a background in systems administration running Linux? Do you want to help support the use of a world class high-performance computing system? If so, then Princeton University is recruiting a Linux administrator to join the Geosciences Department as well as its Research Computing Systems and Storage group.
In this position there would be a dual role focused on supporting research at a departmental level as well as supporting current high-performance clusters. You will guide users on their choice of systems, software and programming issues, support a large installed Linux base of workstations and desktops, plus work with a team of systems administrators running the most modern hardware available.
If you have a strong background in Linux, system administration, some programming experience, and have worked in an academic-like setting, you have the right skill set to make an immediate impact on research at Princeton. This is a five-year term position.
